Chris Pratt's Rules for Living
This is a bit out of character for me, as I usually prefer to use this space for a devotional thought, or a reflection on some biblical truth. But I stumbled upon a video this week of Chris Pratt at an MTV Awards show (of all places), and was so impressed and encouraged that I thought it was worth sharing with you, in case you haven't had a chance to see it yet.
We need to be cautious about propping up public figures (actors, athletes, politicians, etc.) as models of Christian belief and character simply because of their celebrity. True Christian character and faithfulness are best proved over time in the context of a local church. However, when someone with a prominent platform in our culture speaks boldly and winsomely of the gospel of Jesus Christ, it is certainly cause for gratitude to God, and an opportunity to pray for the gospel to bear fruit in the lives of its hearers.
With that disclaimer out of the way, I'd like to commend to you "9 Rules by Chris Pratt, Generation Award Winner." All nine rules are not equally meaningful (case in point: how to avoid embarrassment when you have to... umm... visit the restroom at a party.) But if you can roll your eyes and brush aside the potty humor moments, I think you'll be encouraged by Chris's otherwise thoughtful testimony to faith in Jesus.
